The Arrupe Neighborhood Partnership, sponsored by Saint Ignatius High School, is a collaborative effort to open doors of opportunity, address basic educational challenges, and build relationships between students in poverty and the community of Saint Ignatius. Arrupe, established in 1991, initially provided programs to support neighborhood families with safety, block club meetings, housing, and recreation. In 1998, the Arrupe Neighborhood Center moved to an on-campus location, where today more than 10 weekly afterschool programs occur. In addition, Arrupe hosts several seasonal events and one of the largest summer camps in Cleveland.  Arrupe continues to bring more than 100 students from more than 35 local schools together year-round creating a safer Near West Side.  In 2012 the Arrupe Summer Program served 184 disadvantaged youth during a free four-week camp.
